On Dec. 25 we got up, had breakfast and were at church by 10:00. We came home had Dad's broccoli and ham wreath for lunch. We had the rest of the day together. Then Lois and Lowell and kids came in the evening and stayed over two nights. Showalters came Monday and on Tuesday morning, Lois and Lowell were on their way back to Michigan. Linden was off for the day so this really felt like our family Christmas day. When Dad is home and we have no where to go it feels like a holiday.
Gloria's collection of gifts for us with lovely, delicate snowflake gift tags.
We read an entire book aloud in one day: The Tears of the Giraffe by Alexander McCall Smith. While listening to the story, we all variously occupied.
Petra made some jewelry.
Austin brought a sewing machine downstairs and finished a denim and flannel blanket he had started years ago. Grandma was reading her own book.
Grantley had been working all last week on several whittling and wood burning projects such as decorated wooden guitar picks for friends. Austin needs a broom at his apartment so Grantley got a broom and did an amazing design on the wooden handle! See part of it below.
Our beloved doggie, Evan.
This was the perfect time to repair this bunny which will go to a 3 year old birthday twin of mine.
Samples of the jewelry made by Petra and Gloria.
A Galileo thermometer for Linden.
A little Christmas decoration from when I was little. Mom says it came from "Fresh Air Kids."
