Gr indoor Soc

Indoor soccer is over now.  This was the best shot Dad could get last week at Grantley's tournament where his team won against Flick!  Petra's tournament was today and her team came in third.

Matching with Mariann

Mariann came to our last "soup night" last evening and lo and behold we were wearing matching sweaters!  Gloria, recognize these from Kmart?
Mariann is a dear friend who isn't about to let her severe allergic condition stop her.  This helmet and mask air purifier does the trick.

Hey Austin, check out my new pair of scissors! Man Scissors!

At the youth fundraiser auction last night I bought this amazing pair of scissors for $11.00!  They fit Grantley's hand size so I think you'll love them too, Austin!  Want me to give you a hair cut when you come home?  This was my favorite purchase.  I also got a mug by a famous potter and one of Grantley's and Andrew's pecan pies and some other things I didn't want to go too cheap.

Preschool singing time at church

Abigail and Jonathan

Moriah and MaKayla
Gloria, this is for you.  I took a grad pic of you with me to church and after singing with these four preschoolers I showed them your picture and asked if they knew who you were.  No one answered so I asked Moriah and she said "Gloria".  I then told them that you are in Bolivia and everyday you work with people their size.  I said I wanted to send you pictures of them on the computer.  So they let me take these pictures.  Then they were putting their chairs back at the table and Jonathan bumped his chair on his foot and he said, "Oh, my bunyans!"  Mark and Cindy and I got such a kick out of this.

Bed time read aloud

Dad has been reading "Ranger's Apprentice" a little every night that he can snatch a few minutes before falling into bed.

Snaps from a full day

Educational game:  Dutch Blitz.  Andrea had off so she spent the day with us.

The girls went jogging in the warm spring like weather and ended with swinging on the porch.  Will the weather last?

And couldn't resist capturing a moment of Grantley's practice.

A Picture for our annual performathon invitation

Amazing how long it takes to get a decent picture.  We are giving our recital on Thursday, March 10 at 6:30.  Here's what I put in the invitation:
Although we have just two kids now remaining at home, we think we can still put together an interesting program for friends and family who would like to come to our annual recital.  Petra has completed Suzuki Violin Book 2 and will play several pieces as a “graduation” exercise as well as a piece or two on the piano.  Grantley has two exciting pieces he has been working on for scholarship audition in April which you will be sure to enjoy.  I ,RuthE., continue to study cello and would be pleased to play my favorite piece for you.  It will be our pleasure to have you in our home and to share music with you.

Spanish Class (and practicing my photography skills. Lots to learn.)

April and Shaliqua.
How do you avoid getting that glare from the window?
Btw, it's warm and sunny today!

Indoor Soccer

Amazing what a day to myself at home can do!  I even went to two indoor soccer games in one day!  First games I've seen since fall.  Grantley's was at 1:15 and Petra's at 6:15.  Both games ended up being forfeited because of not enough players.  Maybe I'll be a soccer mom next year.  That's Petra with the blur of a foot.

Learning to take a self portrait. Not hard or painful at all!

This helps me know for sure that I do want to get a hair cut.  It's long enough now that I can't stand it loose.    What a silly feeling in the house by myself trying to conjure up a pleasant expression for my self portrait experiment.  Silly.

Dear friends bearing gifts

Friday eve - Pam and Becky stopped by to pick up Becky's violin which now has all new strings.    They  brought me a wonderful treat from Zoe's - a chocolate covered strawberry and three other chocolates which I'm even going to share with Linden.  Becky loves Petra's gerbil Spiller!

Birthday Lunch with Cindy

Cindy gave me a coupon for this lunch on my birthday and today was the day.  Sadly, I didn't take a camera so I'm putting up this sweet snap of my friend Aneta's three girls:  Eve, Victoria and Lili.  Back to the lunch - we met at Pure and Simple and the food was so healthy and so delicious I got to eat everything and I even had desert - Double Chocolate muffin with Peanut Butter topping.  Wonderful friend time!

Callista

Rachel's Courtney's Callista - Positively scrumptious!

Super Bowl Sunday

Linden, Petra and Andrea watched the game and ate snacks like Pizza dip (made by Petra since Austin nor Grantley were here to make it).  After significant deliberation, I decided to do my own thing which included snapping a picture of this quilt I found in a cabinet at church.  I love the colors and the simple square and triangle design.

Ruby the Birthday Girl!  Won't say how many years but it was a wonderful celebration!

Party at Tranquilitea in Waynesboro.  Ruby's kids did an extraordinary job working together to plan this day.  Ruby was completely surprised and played her part to a "Tea"!  I love hearing those daughters planning every last detail.  We got to have Regina and family stay at our house over night.
Lucy and daughter, Monica; Charity and son, Coleson.  These two babies remind me of each other when I see them separately but together they look different.  But both are darling!  I love my "Young Mom" friends!

Harrisburg - Capitol and Museum

We had a wonderful day, Rhoda and I, with Petra and Shaliqua.  This trip had gotten cancelled twice  so we were thrilled with the sunny (but cold) day with not much crowd.
