Grandma's 80th birthday. Nov. 28, 2011

"I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord.  Plans for good, not for harm."  Jeremiah something.
But why did Mom have to get shingles on her birthday!  Our lunch with a few special friends had to be canceled in favor of a trip to the Dr. office.  What an aggravation!  I'm amazed and thankful for what a good sport Mom is about it all.  Her new motto (from Wayne) is "Halleluia anyhow!"  She's a precious treasure!

A pleasure to have Wayne here visiting for a few days.

Linden returned yesterday from his epic Goshen/ Heston trip with Grantley over Thanksgiving.  Of course, I missed him while he was gone, but I didn't realize how much until he returned.  He is really an interesting, fun person to be around and so handsome!  How did I get him?

Thanksgiving

It was just Petra, Austin and me for Thanksgiving.  Gloria and Anna stayed at school.  Linden and Grantley went to Goshen and Heston on college visits.  Thanksgiving day we went to Uncle Craig's family feast.  Friday and Saturday Austin went backpacking with the Skroban men and dog.

Here is Linden by a tree just recently planted.  Linden spearheaded a tree project for the soccer complex so there would be some shade in the summer.

Petra's team won the tournament!

Shaliqua's Beach Weekend Nov. 11 - 13, 2011

Shaliqua got a grand and glorious brainstorm last summer that turned into a lovely beach weekend for four:  Shaliqua, Petra, Rhoda and Me!  Ready for take off.  Breakfast to go.

A beautiful sight as we pull out of the alley.

Time to go home.
Shaliqua did a wonderful job of planning and hosting this weekend!  Hope she gets a chance to do more of this kind of thing!

Petra's 14th Birthday!

I had breakfast that morning with Kathy and Rhoda.

Spanish class on Petra's birthday.  I made choc/peanut butter fudge instead of cake.  It didn't have time to firm up so they just ate it off of spoons.  Better name this kids in case my memory fails me in the future.  Starting with Mrs. Marks and going clockwise, Ian, April, Nathaneal, Drew, Dexter, Shaliqua, and Petra!

Petra loves taking interesting pictures of leaves and flowers.

Roxanne and TJ's reception

Petra with cousins Olivia and Heather at Roxanne and TJ's wedding reception on that snowy day in October (29th).  Three beautiful girls!

Also on this snowy day, Austin and friends were impersonating Narnia characters for a fund raiser walk of some sort.  The snow was a perfect touch!
