Cordel Gardens - MMC home school crowd, Oct 6

This year we made it to Cordell gardens and made it before frost!  I had some school materials for Wendy  so we all met here for a picnic.  Twila and her kids came too.  What a wonderful setting and perfect fieldtrip home schoolers from Marion Mennonite Church!   Buellah and Merle came out to visit.  I love to watch Merle with his dog, Yeager.

PMI Banquet, October 6

Each year Mom goes to the PMI banquet and usually takes a grandchild or two with her.  Each year she ends up wishing she had brought more people because each year the speaker is so good.  So this year she started early.  She paid for a whole table and Grantley agreed to help her fill it.  The speaker was a well known comedian and Grantley got 5 friends to come along.  I came after the meal with Shaliqua and got a kick out of seeing mom, a little white haired plain lady presiding over her table of energetic teenage boys!  What a Hoot!

One of his friends brought this wonderful pizza cookie and saved me from having to whip up something last minute.  It was a fun weekend!

Grantley ran cross country instead of playing soccer this fall.  He did very well.  The last event was Districts in Hershey on Oct 26.  He placed 2nd for the team.

Happenings

For a couple of weeks Linden and Mom had this genealogy thing going were they spent every spare evening poring over family history books and fan charts.  

Petra's wool boots from last year were in good shape except the soles were worn through.  Petra bought a pare of sandals at Goodwill and repaired her boots.  Good job!

After a dry summer we had a nice rainy "spell."  The paper boy needed rain gear.
